The tail end of 2008 was an exciting time for mobile phones. We had Android breaking the mould with the T-Mobile G1, Windows Mobile came of age with the HTC Touch HD and the Sony Ericsson X1, and we got the first touchscreen Blackberry, in the shape of the Storm. And yet, when it comes to ‘Best Mobile Phone’, every single one of those got its behind tanned by a little phone that has absolutely no illusions about being a smartphone.
